The Peak District National Park Authority was created in 1951 through legislation to conserve and promote understanding of the special qualities of the landscape. While carrying out these purposes it also has a duty to foster the economic and social well-being of the communities within the National Park.
The organisation employs planners, archaeologists, ecologists, tree specialists, rangers and estate staff, legal and marketing teams. It manages it's own sites such as estates and multi user trails as well as overseeing the public use of privately owned upland moorland for walking. There are a number of volunteer opportunities ranging from volunteer rangers, estate and conservation tasks to specialist roles such as monitoring of protected monuments and scientific surveys of protected moorland habitats.
The Peak District National Park has a wide variety of volunteering opportunities. you can check the current volunteering opportunities at https://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/looking-after/volunteering/current-volun...
