Zero Waste Shop
Do you have a passion for sustainability that you would like to share with the wider student community, here at the University of Manchester? Want not Waste is currently looking for passionate students who would like to give a short talk or workshop in our new sustainability seminar series. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate skills in public speaking and communication which you could then use in a job interview.
Example areas which you could produce a talk about:
- Climate Change Mitigation
- Circular Economy
- Water or Energy Conservation
- Waste Reduction and Management
- Sustainable Agriculture
- Social Justice and Sustainability
- Transportation and Sustainable Mobility
- Eco-friendly Consumer Choice
This list of topics is not exhaustive and we are open to any ideas. Talks could be designed around and essay you've written, a research project you've done or a hobby you have. If you would be interested in giving a 10-60 minute talk or interactive workshop on an area or topic relating to sustainability, please contact us at wantnotwastemanchester@gmail.com with a brief description on what your topic is and what you would like to speak about.
Any hours that you put into researching and creating your presentation, along with the time of the talk itself will be logged as volunteering hours which appear on your HEAR transcript when you graduate and will count towards the Stellify award.
