MSH is a student-focused service providing housing and community related information and guidance to students. Based in The University of Manchester's Students' Union, MSH runs a landlord accreditation scheme and offers support to students in relation to property searches, housing inspections and provides housing advice and contract checking service.
The Good Neighbours Team based within MSH delivers a number of educational awareness campaigns and community events throughout the year. These provide a great opportunity for students to learn more about life off campus, meet long term residents, and those working in the local area.
Join our Fallowfield Clean and Green Group, where we show our local Fallowfield neighbourhood a bit of love by litter picking and gardening!
This is a really flexible volunteering opportunity - there will be opportunities to volunteer approximately every two weeks on Thursday mornings (and there may be sessions at other times too). You can join us regularly or just come along when you're free. There are upcoming sessions on:
12 April (this session will run 12-3pm, you can join for all or part of this session)
25 April
9 May
23 May
6 June
We'll usually meet in Fallowfield at 10.30am to do some litter picking or gardening to help keep our neighbourhood clean and tidy. You don’t need any skills or qualifications to take part in this volunteering opportunity, just lots of enthusiasm!
We'll be volunteering for about an hour and then, if you'd like to, join us for a hot drink at a local cafe.
All equipment will be provided, but please wear waterproof clothing in case it rains. If you'd like to find out more about the opportunity, please email deborah.houghton@manchester.ac.uk.
