Ethical volunteering organisation with opportunities in Sri Lanka and Nepal
Volunteer in Morocco! Be involved in the Atlas outreach programme which takes volunteers to a remote community in the Atlas Mountains, providing support with education, infrastructure, agriculture, and women empowerment.
The programme consists of three major projects:
Summer School: volunteers will be running a Summer School throughout the summer months, which is open to any local children who are looking to improve their English and get involved in fun educational activities. The focus of the summer clubs will vary dependant on the student’s abilities (some may require basic English teaching assistance, while others may require IT support) as well as helping introduce and coach sports lessons.
Community Agriculture: help contribute to the village’s agriculture (making long lasting partnerships with every community we work with). Help with field work including planting crops, helping plough the lands and tending to livestock. All harvests produced are used within local communities.
Infrastructure: these projects aim to help improve the mountain communities in several different areas; the focus being to support women empowerment and supporting volunteers constructing a building for the Women’s Association, which will be made from mud brick (the traditional way of building). Volunteers will also help dig and construct water pipelines, ensuring all the local community can access running water and to irrigate the farms. Finally, Travelteer helps support all the local schools that we teach in- we have helped construct new classrooms, school kitchens, toilet blocks and disabled facilities.
