Green Island is a festival that aims to promote the power of live music while upholding a strong ethos of community engagement, sourcing local Manchester-based musicians, DJs, food vendors and creatives for its unique line-up.
Hulme Community Garden Centre is once again opening its historic gates to welcome Green Island Festival this summer. on Saturday 17 June, Saturday 29 July and Saturday 9 September.
This community-led festival, located just a stones throw from the University of Manchester campus, aims to combat the gentrification of Hulme through hosting a diverse and eclectic line-up of live bands and DJs across three stages in the Garden Centre from 12pm to 9pm.
Like last year, to ensure the smooth running of Green Island Festival, we require a dedicated team of volunteers. Among other tasks, these volunteers will be assisting as stewards, and community engagement officers. For a small three-hour commitment, volunteers will be entitled to free entry alongside discounts on food and drink served at the festival site.
These roles do not require any previous experience, as all training will be delivered on site.
