Neurological support
Description of role
Thank you for clicking in The Brain Charity. Please may I present this opportunity to you?
Befriending is a weekly voluntary role, where a volunteer makes a telephone call to someone who has a neurological condition and/or supports someone with one. The aim is to be a calm, non-judgemental ear, and bring a bit of kindness and empathy their way. We ask that volunteers take on two befriendees where possible, so it would require 2 x 30-minute conversations each week. We do require a DBS enhanced and we can sort that out with volunteers unless they are on the DBS update service.
