The 6R protocol is an approach to reduce plastics in labs, on campus and at home
Make a Difference by reducing single-use plastics in your community and volunteering to become a 6R champion.
6R is a guide designed by staff and students at the University of Manchester to manage plastics more sustainably in laboratories, at home and on campus.
Our 6R champions can do many things to help and they will decide on their commitment. Only the F2F campaigning will be delivered at agreed times; the rest can be done in their own time.
- F2F campaigning on campus, in community, or in schools
- personal 6R action aiming to influence others with a measure of impact
- research to improve the 6R guide
- analysis of surveys to identify practical issues/barriers faced by students to manage plastic or ideas for campaigning
- working on solving the issues/barriers/campaign ideas identified in survey
- writing a blog for the FBMH Environmental Sustainability Good Newsletter on great advancements that could save the planet (plastics and others).
