Age UK Trafford is an independent local charity. We've been working in the local community to help older people for 50 years. We have 25 dedicated staff and over 50 volunteers helping us to deliver services and activities for older people in Trafford.
Key Responsibilities:
Greeting clients on arrival at the office
Answering the phone, and dealing with basic enquiries or passing calls on to the relevant worker.
Dealing with basic enquiries, such as booking, signposting or referring on to the I&A or other services
Ensuring high levels of customer service
Input callers details on our database system
Previous Experience and Role Requirements:
This role would suit somebody who is comfortable dealing with members of the public, using the phone and computers and has experience of working face to face with clients. Induction training and ongoing support will be provided. Any potential volunteer will need to be able to demonstrate:
• excellent communication skills
• good IT skills
• basic literacy and numeracy skills
• a commitment to ensuring that customers are provided with accurate, relevant and timely information and support
• the ability to write clear notes and records
• a methodical and orderly approach
• an open minded approach to individuals, avoiding judgement and stereotyping while demonstrating patience and empathy
