Animal assisted therapy - supporting vulnerable, lonely and isolated to reconnect with life though enhancing the human animal bond
Noah’s A.R.T. is an animal-assisted therapy and wellbeing service. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we had to suspend most of our face-to-face services. However, with many of our clients being older, isolated or vulnerable, we have tried to continue supporting them remotely in different ways. One method has been through sending them regular packs of letters, stories, artwork and animal photos by post, sent in by our volunteers and supporters. Each week, individual clients and care homes have received one of these packs in the post. We would now like to expand and continue this service, as an ongoing, socially distanced effort to help tackle increased loneliness and isolation as a result of COVID-19.
Could you help us by creating cards, artwork, poems, photos, stories or letters, which we would send on to isolated, vulnerable or older individuals in the local community and care homes?
We will continue to send out a weekly pack to each client over the coming months, and we would love to be able to include letters, cards, artwork etc. from students and young people.
