The International Society is an independent, not-for-profit organisation unique to Greater Manchester. It provides a warm and welcoming place where international and British students and members of the local community come together and make new friends from all over the world.
Through its work the International Society aims to make a positive contribution to community cohesion and international relations. The International Society’s trips, classes, events, activities and community projects are open to everyone.
Please note: all the language classes will take place online for at least the first semester.
The International Society has up to 70 volunteer teachers teaching classes at any one time; and 100’s over the course of a year. Often teachers teach with us for many years. Many of our teachers are students at the universities in Greater Manchester who want to share something of their language and culture and get some teaching experience.
As a teacher you will be responsible for the content of the lessons that you teach and for checking the register with your students. You need to be enthusiastic, organised and punctual. You will learn how to plan classes, deliver lessons and communicate effectively with people who have varying levels of English in order to teach them another language.
One language course (10 x 1.5 hour classes)
