Organisation Description: Gentle Steps Women’s Movement Collective is a Manchester-based grassroots community organisation creating welcoming spaces for women to connect through movement, nature, creativity and shared experiences.

We began as a local women’s walking group and have grown into a wider programme of activities designed to reduce social isolation, build confidence and encourage women to feel more connected to their communities. Our work includes regular accessible walks, creative and cultural activities, community events, workshops and opportunities to try something new.

We particularly aim to reach women who may face barriers to taking part in traditional wellbeing or community activities, including women from Global Majority communities, disabled women, older women and those experiencing social isolation.

Volunteers play an important part in helping us create friendly, inclusive and well-organised spaces where people can meet others, build confidence and feel a sense of belonging.
