Organisation Description: Rise and Flourish is non profit organization base in Longsight, Manchester. We create welcoming spaces where people can learn, share, and grow together. Our project combines English language learning (ESOL) with the joy of cooking and movement, we empower migrants, refugees, and people where English is not their first language to build skills, confidence, and connections that bring people together, reduce isolation, and promote wellbeing all while learning English. Together, we are not just learning English – we are rising, flourishing, and building stronger communities.
Description of role: Social Media Volunteer Opportunity with Rise & Flourish
Rise & Flourish is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Manchester student volunteer to support us with our social media and digital communications.
We are a community organisation supporting adults, particularly migrants and women, through English language learning, cooking, movement and community activities. We are looking for a student who would like to gain practical experience while making a positive contribution to a local community project.
🌱 What you could help with:
Creating and scheduling social media posts
Taking photos and short videos during activities and events
Creating simple graphics and reels
Sharing stories and highlights from our sessions
Helping to promote our classes, workshops and community events
Developing ideas to increase engagement on Instagram, Facebook and other platforms
Supporting with our social media calendar and content planning
💡 We are looking for someone who:
Is a Manchester student or based in Manchester
Has an interest in social media, communications, marketing or content creation
Is creative, reliable and enthusiastic
Has good communication skills
Can work independently and as part of a small team
Is interested in community work, inclusion and cultural exchange
Previous experience is welcome but not essential. This is a great opportunity to build your portfolio, develop practical communication and digital skills, meet people from different backgrounds and contribute to a growing community organisation.
