Organisation Description: Lifeshare is a voluntary organisation dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable people in Greater Manchester. As a first point of contact for those on the streets, we provide practical assistance, support, and information, helping individuals access initiatives that move their lives forward.
Every weekend our amazing volunteers make sure that those in need wake up to a nice hot breakfast, serving over 350 people each weekend. We offer a full English breakfast, tea, coffee, along with dry clothes, showers and takeaway meals. In 2024 we served 23,000+ meals and numbers continue to rise. We always need volunteers and donations to make this service possible.
This service operates every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning in the Northern Quarter. We also have a small food bank at our main office.

Description of role: We are looking for compassionate, dependable volunteers to support our vital Food Bank Service at Lifeshare’s Head Office in Manchester City Centre (36–38 Sackville St, M1 3WA).
Our food bank opens every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Volunteers help prepare and hand out essential food parcels to local community members in need. While weekly help is ideal, we are very happy to welcome anyone who can commit to at least once a month.
No prior experience is necessary. We simply ask for reliable people with strong empathy, a non-judgemental attitude, and a willingness to lend a hand. In return, you will gain practical team experience, connect with dedicated community members, and make a direct, meaningful difference in people's lives.
