Organisation Description: Ladybarn Community Hub is a community centre in the heart of Fallowfield. We offer activities, events and community spaces for all, from our older people's lunch club and LGBT+ coffee morning to activities like tai chi and Wellbeing Wednesday arts and crafts. We also have a nature-forward garden with swift boxes, wildflower meadow and community chickens!
Description of role: Ladybarn Community Hub runs a weekly singing and music group with Michael, our facilitator. These sessions are open to everyone in the community (all ages) and are popular with older adults. We are looking for volunteers to help with this activity and support it on a weekly basis.
Monday Music with Michael runs from 2.30pm – 4pm weekly on Mondays. Volunteers are needed from 2.00pm - 4pm to: help set up chairs in the room, set up the tea trolley, photocopy song sheets, make people feel welcome, serve tea/coffee, take part in the group singing, and clear up afterwards.
No musical ability needed to volunteer! This is a friendly, informal group who love singing along to popular tracks provided by Michael. Think of it as fun community karaoke!
Ladybarn Community Hub is a five minute walk from the Friendship pub, with easy access from the 143, 142 and 50 bus routes.
