Sub theme: Culture, Heritage, LGBT+
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: LGBT Foundation are a national charity with LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. We celebrate and empower LGBTQ+ individuals and our diverse communities to realise their full potential, every day.
We provide services and activities that give a lifeline to those in need, offering hope and support on their journey towards achieving their aspirations.
Our vision is a world where queer liberation enables meaningful and lasting change and plays a vital part in a more equal and just society.
We recognise the diversity and strength of our communities. We create safe spaces, amplify voices and work with our partners and allies to drive positive change.
Since 1975, we’ve been transforming the lives of LGBTQ+ people across the UK. The same spirit that fuelled our beginnings still drives us today. We are committed to championing the unique voices, experiences and cultures of LGBTQ+ people across the UK.
We know that challenges still exist, but we remain optimistic about the progress we can make together, towards a fairer and more inclusive world where queer hope and joy flourish.

Description of role: How to apply - complete our application form: https://form.jotform.com/221882701436354
About the Role:
We want to make sure that all members of our community have the best possible experience at Manchester
Village Pride, from 28th-30th August 2026. We know that people come from all over the UK to experience it, and this might be their first ever experience of Pride, or Pride of this scale. That’s where the Village Angels Welcome Team comes in. We’re here to make sure that the very first person they see is a happy and welcoming one; looking to spread queer joy,
affirm everyone’s identity, and help in any way we can. Between the team we will be covering entry gates to the Village across the Pride weekend.
Typical duties
• Greeting people attending Manchester Village Pride.
• Handing out pronoun stickers, Angels cards, and other goodies.
• Directing people to the Box Office, Welfare, Accessibility or First Aid facilities.
• Providing information about the event and Village.
Skills & knowledge we ask you to have
• Be friendly and approachable.
• Be willing to listen and answer any questions and give directions.
• Good knowledge of the LGBTQ+ Community, the importance of recognising gender identity, and of Pride itself.
Benefits of volunteering with us
• Entry to Manchester Village Pride festival, and refreshments (where applicable).
• This can help build confidence; you’ll be speaking to people from different backgrounds but will be supported by a team.
• You can meet lots of other wonderful people and increase your social circle.
Training we provide for this role
There will be briefing sessions in the weeks leading up to the event and these will cover everything you need to know; as long as you are friendly and welcoming, that’s all you need!
