Description of role: Are you looking for a summer volunteering opportunity?
Join us at Medlock Primary's World of Work Day on the 1st of July. They are hosting a World of Work Day event on 1 July, designed to showcase a range of careers and opportunities, and have asked whether students and staff would be interested in being involved.
They are looking for help with the following activites:
1)Guess My Line - Wednesday 1st July 9:30-12pm or 1:30-3pm (30mins)
Volunteers to be interviewed by pupils who then guess the degree/profession. Volunteers then step out and re-enter with uniforms or props to show their job/profession and take further questions. Ideally suited to professions requiring a uniform or specialist equipment. We anticipate the activity should take 30 minutes. We need volunteers for a 30 minute session from 9:30-12pm or 1:30-3pm and we will assign you to a class of no more than 30 pupils with the teacher leading the activity. Please suggest your available time and arrive 15 minutes before.
2)Careers Fair - Wednesday 1st July 1:30 -4.15pm (2-3hrs)
Arrive at 1:15pm onwards to set up. Bring some useful material and equipment to display at a table stall in the hall where children can visit and ask questions about the job role/career/business. Parents/ Carers will also be allowed to come in with our pupils after school from 3:15 onwards.
3)Presentations Wednesday 1st July 9:30-12pm or 1:30-3pm (30mins)
Visit a classroom to talk about your job/career with a question and answer session to finish off. We need volunteers for a 30 minute session between 9:30-12pm or 1:30-3pm and we will assign you to a class of no more than 30 pupils with the class teacher. We anticipate the activity should take 30 minute. Please arrive 15 minutes before your suggested slot/time and email your presentation beforehand allowing the class teachers to access it ready for your arrival.
4) Mock Interviews - Wednesday 1st July 1pm-3:30pm (2.5hrs)
Our Year 6 pupils will be applying for a job role in the school for a day's work experience. Volunteers will be required to read application letters and then interview some of our Year 6 pupils then provide some feedback. All questions and feedback sheets provided.
If you are interested in volunteering for one of these activities, or getting involved in the whole of the day please show your interest by applying to this opportunity.
