Volunteer Day: Getting Creative at the Universally Manchester Festival - Saturday 13 June 2026

Organisation Details

University of Manchester Volunteering & Awards Team

Sub theme: Science and Technology, Youth Work and Young People
Description of role: The University's annual Universally Manchester Festival - https://universallymanchester.com/ on Saturday 13 June showcases the cutting-edge research of one of the UK's leading Universities. Over the years, the University has been home to some world-changing discoveries in science, medicine and the arts, contributing to Manchester's history as the birthplace of new ideas.

The Volunteering Team is hosting a stall where children will have the chance to make cress heads, a small container filled with soil and cress seeds with decorated faces. It's a perfect chance for you to gain experience working with children and the community and guiding people on a task.

We need volunteers from any degree to help manage the stall, deliver activities and demonstrate how it's done (full training will be provided!) We expect to meet you around 10:30, and you will finish volunteering at 16:30, if we get lots of interest we will potentially split the day into two shifts. If you have any questions please email amelia.hart@manchester.ac.uk right after signing up.
