CarFest Festival Volunteer

Organisation Details

Child.org

Sub theme: Culture, Health and Wellbeing, International
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: Child.org works to make pregnancy and birth safer for women and babies in Kenya, where maternal mortality is nearly twice the global average. We do this by working closely with government officials and health workers to run programmes which provide essential maternal education to pregnant women, connect families with critical care, and foster supportive community and health structures.

Child.org's fundraising team is based here in the UK! One of our major fundraising events is Charity Concierge. Since 2015, Child.org’s Charity Concierge has partnered with some of the UK, Ireland and Europe’s most loved festivals to deliver high-quality, donation-based concierge services that elevate customer experience while raising vital funds for life-saving maternal and child health programmes in Kenya. These services include a buggy taxi service, trolley rentals, VIP drinks service and baby changing. This year we hope to raise a whopping total of £90,000 across our festivals!

Charity Concierge is run by our awesome community of volunteers. As we grow each year we are looking to recruit more and more volunteers to join the team. I would love to advertise our opportunities to Manchester University students as a chance for them to get involved with micro-volunteering over the summer, develop an array of skills, and make a real global impact.
