Organisation Description: At George House Trust, we provide support, advice and information for people living with HIV. We are committed to ensuring that people have access to what they need to live well with HIV. We have a number of activities and services that volunteers can get involved in, such as Telephone Buddies, supporting at events, fundraising, admin support and mentoring, and many more.
Description of role: As our Pride Support Volunteer, you’ll gain valuable experience in event planning and organisation. You will support the Communications, Fundraising and Volunteering team to create and deliver all activities during Manchester Village Pride. You’ll work closely with our teams of staff and volunteers to ensure that George House Trust has a high profile at Manchester Village Pride and that our volunteers have a great experience across the weekend.
Key Activities:
Helping to create an informative and engaging Pride Parade entry
Helping to source and prepare materials for our entry in the Pride Parade and for the Candlelit Vigil
Helping to create content for social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok
Helping with administration for the event
Supporting with the recruitment of volunteers for the Pride Parade and Candlelit Vigil
Supporting with the training/briefing of volunteers for the events
Supporting with coordination of volunteers at the Pride Parade and Candlelit Vigil
Supporting post-event wrap-up activities
