Organisation Description: Revive provides free integrated support and services for refugees and people seeking asylum in the Greater Manchester area, enabling them to integrate and participate in their new community.

Our vision is to provide high quality services to help refugees and people seeking asylum on their journey of recovery and growth. As Revive is a charity, we rely on donations of money and resources to run all our services.
We are looking for people to volunteer as caseworkers, admin assistants, translators, immigration/accommodation advisors, peer mentors, befrienders and fundraisers. We are so grateful for all our volunteers who keep Revive running.
Description of role: Role Description: Social & Digital Youth Worker (Revive Refugee Social Club)
Role Title: Youth Worker – Digital & Sports Initiatives
Reports To: Project Coordinator
Location: Revive’s hubs Manchester & Salford
Hours: (Evenings and weekends, with some daytime planning)
1. Overall Purpose of the Role
To deliver an inclusive youth programme within Revive Refugee Social Club that uses football and digital engagement to support refugees, asylum seekers, and local young people. The role will promote wellbeing, social inclusion, confidence, and digital skills while providing safe spaces both in person and online for young people to connect, express themselves, and access support.
2. Key Responsibilities
•Plan and deliver inclusive football sessions and recreational activities that encourage participation from diverse backgrounds.
• Use digital platforms (e.g. storytelling, podcast, content creation,blogs,) to build confidence, build job ready skills, engage young people who may not access traditional services.
•Build trusted relationships with refugee and asylum-seeking young people, supporting integration and community cohesion.
•Provide informal mentoring and emotional support, responding to issues such as isolation, wellbeing, and transition challenges.
•Deliver workshops on online safety, digital wellbeing, and responsible social media use.
•Promote participation through social media and community outreach.
•Support volunteer involvement and peer-led activities within the youth programme.
•Maintain accurate records, attendance, and reports in line with safeguarding and organisational policies.
3. Person Specification
Experience (optional):
•Experience working with young people in community, youth, sports, or refugee support settings but not compulsory.
Skills:
•Ability to engage young people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
•Confidence using digital tools, gaming platforms, and social media.
•Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge:
•Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, and challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers.
Attitude:
•Empathetic, inclusive, and non-judgmental approach.
•Creative and adaptable in engaging young people.
•Committed to Revive’s values of community cohesion and empowerment.
4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
•Increased engagement of refugee and asylum-seeking young people in youth activities.
•Improved wellbeing, confidence, and social connection among participants.
•Successful delivery of inclusive sports and digital events each quarter.
Why this Role is Important
Young refugees and asylum seekers often face isolation, barriers to participation, and limited access to safe spaces. This role helps bridge that gap by combining sport and digital engagement to create accessible, welcoming environments. It supports integration, builds confidence, and ensures young people feel valued, connected, and supported within their community.
