Planting Session - Make a Meter Matter Project

Organisation Details

Sub theme: Environment
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Description of role: Join a hands-on planting session as part of Make a Meter Matter, a project that brings small but meaningful enhancements to pockets of green space across the city. Delivered in partnership with Manchester City Council and Manchester Metropolitan University, the project focuses on improving biodiversity one metre at a time.

During this session, volunteers will be planting hedgerow saplings and bulbs to enhance a small plot of green space. Following the planting, the area will be monitored to understand the positive impact these changes have on local biodiversity.

All equipment and bulbs will be provided and no previous gardening experience is required. You’re welcome to drop in if you’re unable to stay for the full two hours.

This is a great opportunity to get outdoors, contribute to urban nature recovery, and be part of a project that turns small actions into measurable environmental benefits.
