Organisation Details

Macmillan Cancer Support - Manchester

Sub theme: Health and Wellbeing
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: We want to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.

There are 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and as more people live longer with their cancer, this number is set to grow to 4 million by 2030. We want to make sure we can provide support to everyone who needs it, to help people affected by cancer feel more in control of their lives.

It’s a big task and we can’t do it alone. But there are lots of ways you can get involved and help us achieve our goal, from fundraising, to volunteering and campaigning. Together we are all Macmillan.
Description of role: The vibrant city of Manchester plays host to this exciting event where runners take on a 10k or half marathon course winding through the heart of the city. In true Manchester style, the route is alive with music, entertainment zones, and incredible energy—creating an unforgettable atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.

You can be part of the action by joining our friendly cheer point and helping us make some serious noise for all our amazing fundraisers.

What will you be doing?
Cheer point

Join a friendly group of volunteers to encourage our runners to the finish line.

We will provide everything you need to make some noise and paint the path green (Macmillan tabards, cowbells, clappers, pom poms etc.)

Can’t do one of our shift times but would still like to volunteer, get in touch and we can help!

Your impact
£124,000 raised by 507 runners in 2025.
