Organisation Description: We manage schools and family outreach in the Faculty of Science & Engineering
Description of role: We're seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support a family-friendly science event taking place at the Trafford Centre on Saturday 7th March (10:00–18:00) and Sunday 8th March 2026 (12:00–18:00). This is a brilliant opportunity to engage with the public, inspire curiosity about science, and contribute to the University’s commitment to Social Responsibility.
Roles we're offering include:
- dinosaur explainer: share fascinating facts about our giant gorgosaurus skeleton
- science busker: entertain people throughout the centre with handheld science tricks (note you'll need to be able to attend training on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th February)
- support on the crafts table with colouring, puzzles and badge-making
- General volunteers: help with set up/set down, queue management, supporting delivery colleagues, evaluation-capturing anecdotal feedback/quotes and generally showcasing our brilliant work in a community environment!
