Description of role: Volunteer at adidas Manchester Marathon 2026 - Sunday 19th April
adidas Manchester Marathon needs enthusiastic, proactive and practical individuals to volunteer in a variety of roles at the event. If you want to be part of an exciting mass participation sporting event whilst developing skills and gaining event experience, then this is the role for you!
What Will You Be Doing?
Whilst we can’t guarantee which role you will be allocated, event roles will include:
- Meet & greeting participants
- Collecting or returning bags to participants (group role of 13-16)
- Helping the start process
- Marshalling the route & cheering on runners (group role of 6+)
- Handing out medals, t-shirts and drinks at the finish

How Much Time Do I Need To Commit?
Your commitment to volunteering will only be one day – Sunday 19th April 2026
Timings and the length of your shift will vary depending on the role you are doing, but the maximum shift time is around 8 hours.
We do ask you to prepare for the event by reading through the information provided, which will detail your role and important information about the event.
You’ll receive this information 2 – 3 weeks before the event.
