Wildlife Rescue - Vietnam (volunteer) - Summer 2026

Organisation Details
Travelteer
Sub theme: Animals, Environment
Organisation Description: Ethical volunteering organisation with opportunities in Sri Lanka and Nepal
Description of role: In partnership with the local Environmental Department, this project is based at a Wildlife Rescue Centre nestled in the mountains of Sa Pa. The centre serves as a sanctuary for animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade — a major issue in the region. The goal is to rehabilitate injured, abused, or endangered animals and, where possible, prepare them
Volunteers will be immersed in real-world conservation work, contributing directly to Vietnam’s broader efforts to protect its rich biodiversity.
Volunteering at the Wildlife Rescue Centre requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a genuine care for animals. The work can be physically demanding at times — from cleaning enclosures to walking across uneven terrain — but it is highly rewarding.
This project also offers volunteers the chance to participate in traditional and sustainable farming practices alongside local families in the Sa Pa region. Agriculture remains at the heart of daily life in these highland communities and by working together with local farmers, volunteers support both food production and long-term environmental health.
