Role Description
Kaya Responsible Travel offers Community Development volunteering opportunities that place you at the heart of local life. These placements focus on empowering communities through education, skills-sharing, youth development and grassroots initiatives.

This is an ideal opportunity for students who want hands-on experience, cultural immersion and the chance to make a meaningful contribution. Projects follow sustainable development principles and are designed with local partners to empower communities, build local capacity and create long-term positive change.

What will you be doing?
Community volunteering roles may include:

- Supporting schools, teachers and education programmes
- Youth work and sports coaching
- Women’s empowerment and skills development initiatives
- Construction or renovation of community facilities
- Assisting local NGOs with day-to-day activities
- Your role will depend on community needs, your skills and the country you choose.

Who can apply?
- Students from any academic background
- Individuals or groups of friends
- No previous volunteering experience required for most placements
- An open-minded and respectful approach to working with communities

Practical details
- All Kaya volunteering placements are self-funded. Project fees typically include:
Accommodation
Airport pick-up and drop-off
Some or all meals (depending on the placement)
In-country orientation
24-hour local support throughout your placement
