Description of role: Volunteer administrators/advisors will play an important role in assisting with the day to day running of the office, taking referrals for potential guests and engaging with volunteers.

Role Description:

Responsibilities may include:
- Taking referral phone calls about potential guests and recording information.
- Engaging with the referral process and speaking to guests about their stays.
- Identify outstanding housing issues and contribute towards making move-on plans.
- Responding to potential volunteers via email and phone.
- Collecting availability of hosts for the forthcoming week.
- Tracking DBS and other volunteer checks.
- Updating notes and data entry.
- Assisting with promotional events.
- Assisting with the volunteer and stakeholder newsletters.
- General administrative duties as required.

Necessary skills, attitudes and knowledge:
- A basic understanding of the issues that homeless people face, or the willingness to learn.
- An ability to relate to people on a one to one, non-judgmental basis.
- A desire to work with people with disadvantages.
- A willingness to participate in training and supervision.
- A willingness to commit at least 2 hours per week on a routine basis.
- Competent in using basic computer packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good telephone manner

Training, support and supervision:
- All volunteer administrators will receive an induction training session and have access to all Depaul training courses if appropriate.
- All volunteer administrators will be provided with regular support meetings and supervision.
