Sub theme: Domestic Violence, Health and Wellbeing
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Description of role: P.E.A.R.L.S. (Providing Education and Resources for Lifelong Smiles) is a volunteer-led outreach initiative dedicated to promoting oral health within our community. During each session, volunteers visit a domestic violence shelter to deliver compassionate, accessible, and practical oral hygiene education.

Our aim is to empower residents with the knowledge and resources they need to maintain healthy smiles throughout their lives. Volunteers provide guidance on effective brushing and flossing techniques, discuss affordable oral care options, and distribute essential hygiene supplies.

The P.E.A.R.L.S. programme places dignity, empathy, and trust at its core—creating a safe, supportive environment where participants can ask questions, learn at their own pace, and feel genuinely cared for. Ultimately, our sessions strive to enhance both confidence and wellbeing through the power of oral health education.
