Oxfam X Vintage Trainers Volunteers!

Organisation Details

Oxfam GB - Greater Manchester

Sub theme: Human and Civil Rights, International
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: Oxfam is a global community of people who believe in a kinder, and radically better world, where everyone has the power to thrive not just survive. We believe we can overcome poverty by fighting the injustices and inequalities that fuel it.

Oxfam retail volunteers make a real impact every shift and help us work towards a kinder and radically better world, one without poverty.

You can volunteer in one of our over 500 shops or hubs across the UK from the age of 14. Volunteering at Oxfam is the perfect way to make friends and gain new skills, whether you're looking to improve your CV, take on a new challenge or just have fun!
Description of role: Oxfam is teaming up with family-run business Vintage Trainers to launch a six-week pop-up shop at its flagship Manchester Superstore, opening Saturday 8 November, following a preview event on Friday 7 November.

The collaboration will bring a carefully chosen range of second-hand trainers, giving shoppers the chance to discover classic styles from brands including Adidas, Nike, and Puma. Every purchase will help support Oxfam’s work to tackle poverty and inequality around the world.

Support the marketing build-up through campus engagement, poster distribution, and local awareness activities
Chat with visitors, share stories, and show how second-hand fashion can be stylish, accessible, and full of character.
Support weekend social media updates from the Vintage Trainers account while on-site, helping to capture authentic moments and connect with the local community.
Gain practical experience in creative retail, events, and communications.

What you’ll get out of it:

Volunteering is a chance to build experience, grow your confidence, and meet people who care about making a difference.
