Description of role: Join us to help conserve and care for one of Stockport’s green spaces!
Heaton Mersey Park sits at the heart of the village and is loved by the local community. We’ll be spending the day maintaining the park and helping to keep the space looking its best for everyone to enjoy.
🌳When is the Volunteer Day?
We’ll be volunteering on Wednesday 5th November, starting at 10am. There will be a lunch break from 12:00–12:45pm, and we’ll continue until 3pm. If you want to get involved and cannot make the whole day please get in touch with us.
🌳What will you be doing?
A variety of tasks, including tackling overgrown areas by cutting back shrubs, removing weeds and bramble, and clearing paths. https://www.stockport.gov.uk/heaton-mersey-park
🌳 What do you need to wear?
Wear comfy, sturdy footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy. We recommend layers and long sleeves, plus a waterproof jacket and hat.
🌳Refreshments
Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided during breaks. Feel free to bring a packed lunch or grab something from the nearby shops on Didsbury Road. Please bring your own bottle of water.
🌳How to get there
We’ll be travelling together as a group and transport will be provided. We will meet outside George Kenyon Hall at 9:15 and we will return to campus for 3:30pm. Alternatively you can meet us there Vale Close SK4 3DS - please let us know if you are joining us there in advance.
*If you’d like to be provided with wellies and a waterproof, please let us know in advance.*
