Organisation Description: Irish Community Care is a registered charity which exists to identify and respond to the needs of both the Irish and Irish Traveller communities across the north west.
We currently offer a range of front-line information, advice and outreach support services including welfare benefits advice and advocacy, support around homelessness, seeking more appropriate accommodation, poor health, drug or alcohol misuse, cultural and social isolation. We also facilitate activities and groups to enrich and grow our community

Description of role: Are you a young Irish man with a passion for storytelling, history, or audio production? Join a creative team exploring the Irish histories of Manchester—starting with the legacy of Manchester United FC, from its working-class roots in Newton Heath LYR to its global platform today.
Role Purpose
Collaborate with other young Irish men to research, record, and produce a podcast that uncovers and celebrates the Irish heritage woven into Manchester’s past and present.
Role Activities
As a podcast creator, you will:
- Conduct research, interviews, and audio editing during monthly development sessions
- Contribute ideas and content to the podcast series
- Engage with group digital channels (e.g., WhatsApp)
- Liaise regularly with ICCM staff to share updates and request support
- Follow the ICCM Volunteer Agreement guidelines

Eligibility
No experience is needed. Due to funding restrictions, this role is open to those who identify as a man (including trans men and trans masculine individuals) of Irish heritage. It’s perfect for anyone curious about podcasting, history, and community connection.
