Organisation Description: The Strathclyde Project works in partnership with a temporary housing accommodation in Stockport to provide bi-weekly arts and crafts sessions and nutritious meals for residents. We focus on supporting vulnerable families to develop peer relations and engage in wellbeing activities, and support their physical health by providing a nourishing meal for them. We want to provide opportunities for other students to be involved in rewarding community work and develop personal skills such as communication, teamwork and leadership in a safe and supportive environment.
We run sessions every other Wednesday evening from 4-8pm and provide transport via Uber from the SU. We also provide access to training around safeguarding and DBS checks through the SU and additional safeguarding and team training facilitated by Project Leaders.
Our sessions are guaranteed to be fun, creative and a great experience for everyone involved. Throughout previous years, we have had a great social element in the team and hope to continue this as it has been a good opportunity to make new friendships with other like-minded students and focus on our own wellbeing.
