Organisation Description: We provide emergency 3-day food parcels to people in crisis in Manchester. In addition to providing food, we also offer a signposting service, in order to inform people about services that can provide them with specialist support with the issues that they may be facing and wanting to overcome. Whilst we recognise that a food parcel can help with the short-term issue of hunger, signposting people onto other forms of support such as advice, grants and additional support organisations can go further in terms of alleviating the circumstances that have led the client to need to access the foodbank in the first place.
Description of role: As the festive season approaches, we’re seeing a rising number of clients in need—and we need your help.
We’re running a Christmas Donation Drive at Tesco Superstore, Hyde Road, Gorton from Thursday 27 November to Saturday 29 November, and we’re looking for volunteers to help collect donations and spread some holiday cheer.
Volunteer slots available:
🕘 Morning: 9:30am – 1:00pm
🕑 Afternoon: 1:00pm – 4:30pm
Donation drives are a fun and rewarding way to give back. It’s a wonderful feeling when a generous shopper fills the donation bin with festive goodies that will make a real difference to someone’s Christmas.
