Organisation Description: ntergenerational Music Making is a national not-for-profit organisation which brings people of all ages together. Through the magical power of music we reduce loneliness, boost wellbeing and create stronger communities. Our bespoke music based programmes and training are designed to inspire connection and understanding across generations. We promote cross generational work through campaigning and research. We use music as a vehicle to connection, fusing together our music therapy and community arts knowledge with sports, nature and creativity to bridge societal gaps and connect people of all ages. Our services benefit people of all ages and abilities. We work across care homes, retirement communities, nurseries, schools, hospitals and community spaces to tackle isolation, reduce loneliness and improve mental health and wellbeing.
Description of role: Intergenerational Music Making (IMM) is a national music and creative health organisation that brings generations together through innovative projects, training, and
research. Our work tackles loneliness, ageism, and disconnection by building stronger, more inclusive communities.
We partner with schools, care homes, community groups, and local venues to co-create
meaningful programmes—and we’re looking for passionate volunteers to help us make
a difference.
We’re inviting volunteers from across Greater Manchester to join a 6-week music and movement project to support those living with heart disease, families and carers, supported by the IMM team.
Build relationships across generations
Learn new skills in facilitation and creative wellbeing
Make a real impact through music
The project will be co-designed with participants, so it reflects the needs and voices of
the local community.
No experience needed – just enthusiasm and a willingness to connect. Full support will be provided.
