Organisation Details

GoodGym
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: GoodGym is a community of people who like to get their physical workout in while doing good at the same time. We run, walk, or cycle to help support local community projects and charities with tasks that require some people power.
The tasks can vary widely, with GoodGym groups known to help out with digging, weeding, or clearing in community gardens, help sort donations at charity shops or cleaning and sorting donations for community food banks, or painting benches or walls in the local park or for local community groups, basically anything that benefits the community and could do with some extra hands to get the job done!
The physical and community aspect is a great boost to physical and mental health, and there are numerous possibilities for volunteers to develop new skills, grow their networks, and enhance their communication and leadership skills, with opportunities to become a volunteer local Taskforce or qualified Run Leader. We are completely volunteer run so always keen for extra hands and heads to help where possible. Most sessions take place outside of work hours, generally Monday evenings or on weekends, and there is no minimum commitment required.
