Foodbank driver's mate
Organisation Details

Manchester Central Foodbank
Sub theme: Asylum Seekers and Refugees, Homeless and Housing, Human and Civil Rights
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: We provide emergency 3-day food parcels to people in crisis in Manchester. In addition to providing food, we also offer a signposting service, in order to inform people about services that can provide them with specialist support with the issues that they may be facing and wanting to overcome. Whilst we recognise that a food parcel can help with the short-term issue of hunger, signposting people onto other forms of support such as advice, grants and additional support organisations can go further in terms of alleviating the circumstances that have led the client to need to access the foodbank in the first place.
Description of role: Want to make a difference? We are looking for a volunteer to help load our van and transport food from our warehouse in Ancoats to our foodbank location in Openshaw. You would be accompanying our warehouse and logistics coordinator, Rob, who will supervise and help with loading and unloading the food. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Jan Brierley at jan@manchestercentral.foodbank.org.uk
