Organisation Description: Blue Letter Project is a non-profit organization focusing on psychological accompaniment and research for left-behind children.
There are 26.7 million left-behind children in China, whose parents work and live in other places for a living. Blue Letter trains volunteers to provide left-behind children with one-on-one long-term (more than one year) letter companionship, guiding them to grow up healthily and happily.
Blue Letter has provided letter service to 300 schools in 26 provinces and cities in China, and sending and receiving more than 999,277 letters. Until now, we have 76,180 registered volunteers and cover more than 1,000 colleges and universities nationwide.
Blue Letter came to the UK in 2020, supported by over 200 volunteers from more than 10 UK universities who have contributed more than 6,000 volunteering hours to our cause.
Blue Letter was awarded the "National Rural Left-behind Children Care Service and Rights Protection Demonstration Project" and recognized by the State Council Poverty Alleviation Office as one of the "50 Best Cases of Volunteer Poverty Alleviation" in 2019. Our work has been reported by mainstream media such as CCTV1, People's Daily, and Southern Weekend.

Description of role: The Blue Letter Project is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator Assistant to support the daily management of our volunteers and project activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with volunteer management: replying to volunteer applications, selecting qualified candidates, answering volunteer inquiries, updating volunteer service hours, etc.
- Support social media management: drafting and publishing posts, writing blogs to promote our work.
- Contribute to event organization: supporting applications for events such as the Volunteer of the Year Awards at the University of Manchester.
- Assist with document drafting: writing FAQs, guidelines, and other volunteer-facing materials.
- Regularly catch up with the charity manager for updates and task planning.
Requirements:
- Current University of Manchester student (preferably 1st/2nd year UG or newly started PG).
- Fluent in Chinese (for communication with Chinese-speaking volunteers) [MUST]
- Previous Blue Letters Project volunteers preferred.
- Responsible, detail-oriented, good communicator.
This role is remote and flexible, you can work anytime when you're free.
