Working Class Movement Library
Activity type: Environment and Gardening, Heritage
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: The Working Class Movement Library is a radical library founded by working class activists, Ruth and Eddie Frow. We provide access to our collections and events to encourage working people to learn from and interpret their history. We are a charitable trust and work with the support of volunteers to help us to achieve our mission. Our library and archive collection includes books, pamphlets, posters, photographs, banners and other memorabilia that tell the story of working class struggle and campaigning.
Description of role: The primary role of the Garden Volunteer is to look after the library garden and areas around the library site. Volunteers will be working alongside the gardener, Mark, as well as other garden volunteers to develop a plan for the garden and shape what happens and when. You may be working by yourself or with other volunteers to remove litter, clear away weeds and cut back vegetation or prune at appropriate times of year.
