Organisation Description: We are an emergency food charity which provides hot meals and dry food bags to those in most need. We believe that every human being has the right to basic food and this should not be dependent on them having money. We provide simple, free, vegetarian, nourishing hot food and emergency food parcels to people in Manchester. We never ask any questions, make any judgement or charge for any of our services.
We are an emergency food charity. Therefore, we are open for same day food collection 7 days a week and aim to deliver hot meals and/or dry bags within 24 hours of receiving a request.
Description of role: As a Food Support Assistant, you will arrive at our base in Beswick, help load around 100 hot meals into our van. Then, together with our Food Support Driver, you will take the meals to one of our locations in Greater Manchester, where they will hand them out to clients in some of the most deprived areas of the country.
Then you will be driven back to the Feed My City base.
Each session takes around 2-4 hours in total.
Time: Monday to Saturday. Sessions tend to be around midday or in the late afternoon/early evening.
