Organisation Description: Fallowfield & Withington Foodbank is an anti-poverty charity and part of the Trussell Trust network. We focus on alleviating poverty in our community by combining emergency food support with financial inclusion and advocacy support. We network and collaborate with organisations and groups in south Manchester to address and fight the causes of poverty, inequality and division through community meals, consciousness raising and community organising.
Description of role: Withington Community Kitchen is a free community meal for families on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of each month in St Paul's Parish hall. The kitchen is open from 12:30-2:30. We serve plant-based and halal menus and are supported by a partnership between St Paul's Church and Fallowfield & Withington Foodbank.
The project is looking for volunteers to help with preparing and serving our two course-lunch. The role also involves chatting with visitors and supporting activities for children and families.
