Foodbank van driver
Organisation Details

Manchester Central Foodbank
Sub theme: Asylum Seekers and Refugees, Homeless and Housing
Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: We provide emergency 3-day food parcels to people in crisis in Manchester. In addition to providing food, we also offer a signposting service, in order to inform people about services that can provide them with specialist support with the issues that they may be facing and wanting to overcome. Whilst we recognise that a food parcel can help with the short-term issue of hunger, signposting people onto other forms of support such as advice, grants and additional support organisations can go further in terms of alleviating the circumstances that have led the client to need to access the foodbank in the first place.
Description of role: Want to make a difference? We are looking for a volunteer to help load our van and transport food back to our warehouse on Friday lunchtimes. You can join the end of our foodbank session at Brunswick Church in Ardwick and then load our van and drive it back to the warehouse in Ancoats. You would be accompanied by a member of staff who will help with unloading the food. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Jan Brierley at jan@manchestercentral.foodbank.org.uk
