❤️ Student Volunteering Week ❤️ - Big Volunteer Day with Ardwick Climate Action

Organisation Details

University of Manchester Volunteering & Awards Team

Activity type: Environment and Gardening
Description of role: Student Volunteering Week is back for 2025! On Wednesday 12th February, join us for Big Volunteer Day, where we’ll be working with Ardwick Climate Action to increase the biodiversity of the Brunswick area of Ardwick and making it cleaner and greener for the residents. This includes planting hedges, lavender, bulbs and other plants.

We will be volunteering from 10am - 3pm. Sign yourself, your housemates, your course mates, and your society up for more information and to let us know you’re coming (mostly so that we know how many teabags and biscuits to buy!).

We’ll be based on Kale street (a 10 minute walk from Main Campus), where there will be a variety of different tasks to get stuck into. As a team we’ll be improving the space for local residents, wildlife and for everyone passing by. Activities will include planting hedges, mulching, weeding, a spot of litter picking and working on the existing gabion walls to promote wild life.

We’ll be joining forces with local residents, but we need as many volunteers as possible so that we can complete all the tasks we have planned! You can see what’s in store for you in this video: https://bit.ly/SVWvideo2020.
