Stellify Award: This opportunity is part of 'Make a Difference'
Organisation Description: Speak Up is part of Student Action Volunteering and aims to empower the migrant community by offering free informal English classes in primary schools. Our sessions run for an hour each week and all materials are provided.
Description of role: Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in your community? Speak Up is seeking enthusiastic and caring volunteers to teach English to immigrant parents at Old Moat Primary School on Thursdays. No teaching experience is necessary—just a desire to help others. We’ll provide all the materials you need, making it a straightforward and deeply rewarding way to give back.
This volunteer role is wonderfully flexible, requiring just one hour a week. You'll enjoy school holidays off, and if you ever need time away, simply let us know in advance. There’s no strict dress code, just be comfortable.
If you’re someone who finds joy in helping others achieve their goals, this role is perfect for you. You’ll not only be teaching English but also giving parents the tools to build their confidence and find their voice. As we say at Speak Up, “Be the voice that helps find others theirs.”
Come join us and make a difference in the lives of others today!
Voluntary time: Thursdays 9:15 am - 10 am
