Organisation Description: Speak Up is part of Student Action Volunteering and aims to empower the migrant community by offering free informal English classes in primary schools. Our sessions run for an hour each week and all materials are provided.
Description of role: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of others? Speak Up is looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join us in teaching English to immigrant parents at Birchfield Primary School on Wednesday from 2-3pm. No prior teaching experience is required—just a willingness to help and inspire! We provide all the teaching materials, making this a simple and fulfilling way to give back to your community.
This role is incredibly flexible, requiring just one hour of your time per week. You'll have school holidays off, and can take time off as needed with prior notice. There's no strict dress code—just dress professionally and comfortably.
If you're someone who finds joy in helping others grow, this is the perfect opportunity for you. You'll not only be teaching English, but also empowering others to find their voice. As we say at Speak Up, “Be the voice that helps find others theirs.”
