Description of role: • To provide support, assistance and help to be an extra resource to assist classroom staff teams in College delivering a swimming session.
• Work as part of a classroom team to assist, support and engage with students where directed to, listen to and follow staff input and lead in terms of their knowledge of the students, likes and dislikes, communicating with students and ideas for positive engagement and support during sessions.
• During sessions and where appropriate, provide active support, inclusively and in person centred ways to support the children and young people’s participation, valuing individuality, choice, identity and culture.
• Assist in the development of resources, coordinate resources and take responsibility for resources during sessions, ensuring that students have all that they need to participate in a session and safely.
• Involves working in and around the swimming pool, working safely, assisting in transitions, ensuring sessions run smoothly with each member of the team able to do what they need to support students.
