Description of role: • To provide support to the staff team in Care in the planning and delivery of an activity club, setting up for sessions, developing resources, tidying up and closing down after sessions and helping to create a safe, supportive and resident led environment.
• Work as part of a team alongside staff to engage with residents where directed to, listen to and follow staff input and lead in terms of their knowledge of the young people’s, likes and dislikes and how the young person transitions between tasks, move about the space and what they need or require to take place in an activity session.
• Work alongside staff during sessions, build rapport and understanding of the young people, use initiative, the role requires flexibility, adaptability and to be a good team player, looking for ways of making a difference.
• To work safely, inclusively and in person centred ways to support the children and young people’s participation, valuing individuality, choice, identity and culture.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment, inform staff if equipment is missing or broken or needs replacement, store equipment and art work safely.
• Adhere to the lead staff member’s instructions during sessions involving young people to maintain an environment suitable to their needs and requirements so they are able to take part in the lesson.
