Description of role: • To provide lunch time support and be an extra resource to assist classroom staff teams in College, helping staff manage lunch’s and engage with students within a safe, supportive and student led environment.
• Work as part of a classroom team to support and engage with students where directed to, listen to and follow staff input and lead in terms of their knowledge of the students, likes and dislikes, communicating with students and ideas for positive engagement and support during sessions.
• To work with colleagues in leading lunch time clubs for students including sport activities, music club or song-sign classes.
• The role may involve supporting students having their lunch in the dining room, safely, providing active support, inclusively and in person centred ways to support the children and young people’s participation, valuing individuality, choice, identity and culture.
• To follow bespoke eating and drinking guidelines when supporting students to have their meals over lunch time
• Work alongside a classroom staff team during lunchtime to support the sessions, take initiative, be a good team player and make a difference.
• Provide a good handover to staff who are returning back to the classroom, information about the students and their participation over lunchtime.
