Description of role: Placement Summary:
The Blog Post Writer will be responsible for creating engaging and informative blog posts that educate and inspire our community. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and research skills, a passion for disability advocacy, and a keen understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with FOP.
This role would be ongoing over a period of weeks rather than a block of 30 hours.
After an initial meeting at the office, we envisage this role to be mainly virtual.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and write a series of high-quality blog posts on topics related to FOP, disability, and health challenges, over the volunteering period.
• Stay up-to-date with current events and news relevant to the FOP community, both locally and internationally.
• Develop and maintain a blog calendar to ensure consistent content creation.
• Collaborate with other team members to brainstorm ideas and gather information.
• Edit and proofread blog posts before publication.
• Respond to comments and engage with readers on social media.
Proficiencies:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong research and analytical abilities
• Ability to write engaging and informative content
• Passion for disability advocacy and social justice
• Knowledge of FOP and related health issues (preferred)
• Experience with content management systems (CMS) (preferred)
After an initial induction, this role would be a virtual position, with occasional in-person opportunities to review and touch base.
