Description of role: Henshaws charity works to support people of all ages with visual impairments and other disabilities to set their own goals and go beyond expectations. We have worked in Manchester since 1837 making us one of the oldest Northern Charities, and we now provide information, advice and guidance to help empower individuals to live confidently and independently. From helping people to read their favorite book again, to taking visually impaired children down a ski slope for the first time we offer accessible and supportive services for over 3,600 people a year.
Our fundraising team works with community groups, individuals, local businesses and large corporates to raise vital funds for these services. With a variety of calendar events from our annual Carols by Candlelight Concert in Manchester Cathedral, to supporting participants in The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Hiking Challenge, we need support in helping us reach as many people as possible and in finding people to be a part of our Henshaws Community!
