Organisation Description: At George House Trust, we provide support, advice and information for people living with HIV. We are committed to ensuring that people have access to what they need to live well with HIV. We have a number of activities and services that volunteers can get involved in, such as Telephone Buddies, supporting at events, fundraising, admin support and mentoring, and many more.
Description of role: The purpose of this role is to support George House Trust’s event organisation for World AIDS Day and to support with tasks related to our Positive Speakers’ Programme, in the lead up to World AIDS Day.
As our World AIDS Day Support Volunteer, you’ll gain valuable experience in event planning and organisation and volunteer management. You’ll work closely with our staff team to ensure that George House Trust is able to fundraise and raise awareness about HIV and that our volunteers have a great experience of helping at World AIDS Day Events. This role is only available from September-December and requires a commitment of around 6 hours per week.
Key tasks include:
-Helping with administration for World AIDS Day
-Supporting with the recruitment of volunteers
-Supporting with the training/briefing of volunteers
-Supporting with coordination of volunteers for fundraising collections
-Supporting with the planning and organisation of the World AIDS Day Vigil
You will need to be able to commit to approximately 6 hours per week from September- December. You need to be able to come into the George House Trust office one day per week.
You will need to be available to support with the Candlelit Vigil on December the 1st
